Summer Vacation

Riding at Cornucopia Lodge

The town of Cornucopia, Oregon was named after a gold mine that produced millions in treasure before it closed. Cornucopia Lodge still offers the endless treasure you'll find when you step out the door of your cabin and walk right into Eagle Cap Wilderness. At 360,000 acres, Eagle Cap is Oregon's largest wilderness and offers a cornucopia of opportunity for horseback riding, hiking, fishing, photography, or viewing wildlife.

You can also take half day horseback rides or day rides from the lodge with lunch provided or join a wagon tour of the the ghost town.

Whether you're on your own or with one of the organized summer riding trips, you may see the deep blue of clear alpine lakes, the wild Imnaha River or Minam River, a designated national scenic waterway, and ridge after ridge of granite peaks, and a multitude of wildlife (including the largest elk herd in eastern Oregon).
