Oregon Trail 175th Anniversary Package

2018 marks the 175th Anniversary of the opening of the Oregon Trail.  We are excited to offer this opportunity to explore and experience some of what our pioneering ancestors saw!  We've put together a 4-day, 3-night package for our fellow homeschooling families.  BUT... if this doesn't quite fit or you'd like to add additional activities, please give us a call and we'll be happy to customize a trip JUST FOR YOU! (The package as outlined below is designed for families of 4, but we are happy to adjust for more or less.)

(Do note that this package and it's discounts, is available Sunday - Thursday.  Should you want a weekend package, please contact us for additional options.)

dAY 1:

On your arrival day, we'll give you a warm welcome and get you settled into your two-bedroom cabin.  The kids will enjoy each having their own twin bed (there are 2 available in the 2nd bedroom).  And, if needed, there's also a hide-a-bed in the sitting room, in addition to the queen bed in the main bedroom.

After you're settled, we'll serve up a country gourmet dinner in our dining room at 6:30 where you'll be able to "grill" your hosts, Jeff and Sara about the area, history or whatever subject you are partial to.

Day 2:

After a great nights' sleep in our quiet, secluded cabins, you'll enjoy a big family-style breakfast at the lodge.  After breakfast, we'll transport you in our 15-passenger van to Baker City where you'll be able to tour the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, and enjoy your sack lunch at the outside seating areas while you take in the vista.  After lunch, we'll visit the Baker Historic Museum which houses a wonderful collection of mining, ranching, farming and Oregon Trail collections.  The day will finish up with another great dinner upon your return to the lodge.

Day 3:

After you've eaten your fill of breakfast at the lodge, we'll introduce you to your mount for the morning.  We'll take you on a beautiful two-hour ride where you'll be able to see some of the remnants of the mining history in this area, as well as the amazing scenery that the Eagle Cap Wilderness has to offer.

Upon returning to the lodge, you'll enjoy a hot lunch followed by a guided tour of the old ghost town of Cornucopia.  (This is a service we're offering only to our homeschool families at this time!).  After the tour, we'll again feed you to the gills in the lodge before you settle in for your final evening.

Day 4:

Checkout.  We welcome you to linger and enjoy another great breakfast.  Checkout time is typically 11am, but in most cases we can adjust as needed if you aren't in any hurry.  :)  When it's time to go, we'll all be sad to say good-bye but grateful for the new friends we've made...and we'll be looking forward to your next visit!

Pricing, Notes and more:

This package is based on a 4-person family, but can be adjusted as needed.  The rate is $1,499.  (This includes admission to the museums)
