β€œThe Perfect Getaway!”
— Chris R.

Located 12 miles outside Halfway, Oregon at the mining ghost town of cornucopia, we are the gateway to the eagle caps and the wallowa mountains!

WE ARE BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE !!!

SUMMER SEASON 2023: Cornucopia Lodge will be getting a new roof, expansion of the outdoor patio area and exterior improvements. The Main Lodge Building will not be accessible to guests from 6/15/23 - 9/15/23. A temporary dining location will be available for the summer season. Signs on premise will direct guests accordingly.

Winter or summer you'll see views from the lodge of the magnificent Wallowa Mountains on the southern boundary of the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Just think of it - you can hike or snowshoe a short distance from the lodge right into the Eagle Cap Wilderness, Oregon's largest designated wilderness area. You're also a short drive from the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area.  Or, you may choose to explore the adjacent historical ghost town of Cornucopia (just a short distance) either by foot or borrow one of our mountain bikes for a afternoon ride.

AND... we're pet-friendly!!

Much of that mountain wilderness lies within the 1200 square mile Wallowa Mountain range of spectacular northeastern Oregon as part of the 360,000 acre Eagle Cap Wilderness, an area with designated wild and scenic rivers like the Minam and Imnaha, 53 high mountain lakes, 540 miles of trails, granite crags, and steep-walled valleys formed by ancient glaciers.

The lodge is also a short drive to Hells Canyon, the deepest river gorge in North America. It runs along the border of Idaho and Oregon and was cut by the Snake River. The Oregon rim of the canyon is more than a mile above the river and the Idaho rim measures 8000 feet from the top of He Devil mountain to the river bank. That is over 2000 feet deeper than the Grand Canyon!

Guest Dining

A hearty family-style breakfast is included with all stays.

Additionally, you can make reservations for dinner in our dining room.  We offer an upscale family-style meal.  Wine and beer are also available for sale during dine in or takeout.

You may also choose to travel down and eat in town. We highly recommend trying The Main Place which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner Tues - Sat. They serve great food and have full bar in comfortable atmosphere.   Or, you may bring a camp stove and food and cook on the picnic table outside of each cabin.

Cabins

When you open the front door of your Cornucopia cabin, you'll look right into Eagle Cap Wilderness, and after a long, relaxing day of hiking, snowmobiling or sight-seeing, you'll have a cozy home to return to.

But you'll have no phones, tv's or noise - and no worries. The only sound you'll hear as darkness settles over the Pine Creek Valley is the creek itself. You can also visit the lodge and sit around the fire until you walk back to your cabin for a quiet mountain eve with Pine Creek to lull you to sleep.
